Started watching cause I liked this song, then read it was a game first. It also looked like an anime that I would hate to watch. That picture of Fuuko there in that video annoyed me. I don't know why, but that made me want to watch it too. Anyway, the anime is not what it seems. It gets real good at Afterstory. I don't know if slice of life is the right genre for it. It can be pretty funny at times.. but you gon' cry.
I've only heard good things about Clannad. I keep telling myself to watch it but I never get around to it. One of these days though. It's on my list.
I thought Clannad was a fantastic and interesting RomCom about a boy trying to find his place in the world while maybe finding love. I thought afterstory was the COLD and CYNICAL brick of adulthood hitting the characters in the face. They had to literally cheat in the story to get the good ending! It was so depressing.
After watching it, I have to agree. I've recommended it highly to most of my companions but they blow it off because of how long it takes to get the story rolling.
