Whoa, the Mellow updates are becoming almost like a yearly thing. I'll try to make that not happen.

This update comes to us from a Japanese duo known as GENTLE LOVE, which is comprised of Norihiko Hibino and Ayaki Saito. Norihiko has composed works for loads of games, some of them being the Metal Gear Solid series, the Zone of the Enders series, and even the Bayonetta series. Ayaki has contributed towards some Etrian Odyssey games. Together, they make some painfully slow and jazzy pieces. These are just some tracks from their Prescription for Sleep albums.

This is the only "RIP Iwata" picture I saved, because it features one of his most iconic lines and it's one of the few that doesn't have random bleeding heart video game characters. It also features the former leaders of Nintendo, happy to see their old friend. Iwata would want us feeling happy and inspired by his achievements and positive attitude towards everything.

As every gamer already knows, Satoru Iwata died last week and was funeralized just recently. I'm not gonna write a whole eulogy right here, as I'm a man of few words; and the words that come out might be a jumbled mess. I will say, however, that he was a glorious programmer who managed to rescue, from seemingly impossible hurdles, some of my favorite games from my childhood. Without him, Kirby, EarthBound, and Pokemon G/S wouldn't have been the same. They probably would not have even existed. So I thank him for that. I...

VIP In Memory of Kirill Pokrovsky

Forgive me, Aersia, for I have sinned. It has been 3 months since my last update. For my reconciliation, I will do 3 updates this month. I don't think I've ever gone this long without an update. Spring and summer are my laziest seasons. It has something to do with allergies and heat. I got incredibly lazy this season. So no, I'm not dead. If I were dead, someone would've taken my place, probably a son that has yet to be born from a mother I've yet to find.

Speaking of death, last month on June 2, a great composer known as Kirill Pokrovsky had died of unknown causes at the age of 53. Upon hearing this news, my heart sulked. Kirill is best known as the composer to every Divinity game. He was a brilliant pianist who liked to play as much as he could. He's also a literal rock god.

Here's a piano concert:

The Kickstarter party stream for Divinity: Original Sin was and still is the best countdown...

I'm taking a break from my very busy Pillars of Eternity schedule to post this update (I literally have it minimized right now). Since Hotline Miami 2 came out recently, this update is dedicated to totally 80s-style music. I was really meaning to post this yesterday, but, you know, busy, busy, busy. This is NOT an April Fool's joke, so stop trying to find some hidden meaning behind this post.

Code:
Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number - Divide
Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number - Future Club
Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number - Hotline Theme
Hotline Miami 2: Right Number - Sexualizer
Turrican II: The Final Fight - Tomi Jylha-Ollila - Turrican 2 Main Title
Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon - Power Core
Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon - Resurrection
Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon - Sleeping Dragon
  • Hotline Miami 2 was just released with widespread critical acclaim. People say it improves on the first one. IMO, the music is also much better than the first. It's less repetitive, more...

VIP Happy 2015, China!

It was New Years in China a few days ago! Not sure what took so long over there; must be the massive time zone difference or something. >_> This update is to celebrate the new year finally arriving in China, so I gathered together most of the Chinese-sounding music on the backlog. ^_^

Code:
Ar Tonelico II - BASARA (instrumental)
99 Spirits - Crushing Evil and Spreading the Truth
99 Spirits - Crushing Evil, Absolute
99 Spirits - Veteran Fighter
VM JAPAN - Alone in the Moonlight
VM JAPAN - Narrative of an Illusion
VM JAPAN - The Eastern Cherries
  • Here's a 4th track for Ar Tonelico II. This Chinese game has no right to have such a great soundtrack. I believe I've heard this track in a popular video somewhere.
  • 99 Spirits is a game that no one has played, because it's apparently shit. "Crushing Evil and Spreading the Truth" and "Crushing Evil, Absolute" are different tracks, I swear!
  • VM Japan is a turn-based tactics game like...
